Hello Fantastic Fur Friends! My name is Mr. Kimble and I came into rescue when I was about 4 weeks old with twisted hind legs. It was originally thought that things would straigten out over the next few weeks as I got my sea legs about me. It did not so at eight weeks, I was referred to Texas A&M for specialized care. Testing revealed twists and curves in the bones as well as luxated patellas in both legs. This could only be corrected via extensive orthopedic surgery. Even though I was young and had lots of growing to do, Texas A&M agreed to do this when I was 6 months old. They could only do one leg at a time so I had two different surgeries. Recovery was really hard but 8 months later I could almost stand up straight and my tail no longer laid flat against my stomach. I am so thankful to TX A&M for taking a big risk on me. Today I can get around fairly good although I am slow as I kinda duck waddle. I can climb but only if stairs are involved and I will not go too high. Sadly one of my patellas reluxated so I will be looking at another surgery at some point. I receive monthly acupuncture treatments which has really been beneficial with pain management and I jumped for the first time ever after my 5th treatment! I will most likely always be in foster care due to my limitations but if that special once in a lifetime home came along that would be the most perfect thing! If you are reading this and think you might be that person, please know that even though I am the biggest snuggle bug and will bring you lots of happiness, I will also bring you sadness someday. And it may be sooner than you want so I need you to be strong and promise to put my needs before your heart. It will be harder than you think.
